New Executive Board of NMA

A newly elected Executive Board of NMA took office from 25 June 2010 after administering oath amidst a program organized on 25 June. Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Sharat Singh Bhandari, Minister for Forests and Soil Conservation Deepak Bohra were present as chief guests in the program. Mr. Zimba Zangbu Sherpa, President expressed his commitment to lead NMA in order to establish it as professional alpine club of Nepal. He also promised to focus on such programs which will increase the skilled human resources required for the development of mountain tourism. Finally, Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation wished that from now onwards all the debates related with NMA will be removed and the organization will move in a new direction.

Everest women 7 summits Eco-action left kathmandu -28 june 2010
The members of First Inclusive Women Sagarmatha Expedition 2008 have started their new adventure named -Everest Women 7 Summits Eco-Action (EW7SEA). The team is going to summit all 7 highest summits of the 7 continents. The members of the team are Shailee Basnet, Asha Kumari Singh, Chunu Shrestha, Nim Doma Sherpa, Pema Diki Sherpa, Pujan Acharya, Maya Gurung , Ngawang Phuti Sherpa and Usha Bista. The journey will kick-start with Mt. Kosciuszko, in Australia in June 2010 marking the Golden Jubilee anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Australia. Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has borne the airfare of the team from Kathmandu to Australia and vice versa. The expedition left Kathmandu on 28 June 2010 and NMA's newly elected President Mr. Zimba Zangbu Sherpa saw them off at the airport.
