Winter Aspirant Guide Course- 4 Jan
NMA in collaboration of Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA) started Winter Aspirant Guide Course started from 4 Jan 2011 on Ramdung and Pharcharmo peaks of Rolwaling region. Seven trainees are participating in the training program which is scheduled to end on 7 Feb 2011. The course is regarded as one of the highest standard course in mountaineering sector.

Basic Mountaineering Course 2011 in June- 9 Jan
NMA Central Secretariat decided to conduct Basic Mountaineering Course 2011 in the month of June from 2011 for 42 trainees only

Nepal Tourism Year 2011 Torch Expedition Mt. Amadablam succeeded- 14 Jan
The members of Nepal Tourism Year 2011 Torch Expedition Mt. Amadablam ascended on 14 Jan 2011. The expedition team hoisted the flags of NMA and NTY 2011 at the summit of Mt. Amdablam coinciding with the official inauguration of Nepal Tourism Year on 14 Jan 2011. The ten member expedition team was led by NMA President Zimba Zangbu Sherpa and coordinated by Mr. Pemba Dorjee Sherpa. The expedition team is being led by NMA President with the following summiteers as members.

NMA received invitation from Nagano Mountaineering Association (JMA) to participate in its 50th Anniversary on 12 Nov

Trainees of AMC returned Kathmandu- 27 Jan
24 Trainees and 8 instructors of Advance Mountaineering course returned Kathmandu on 27 Jan from Manang, Humre after completing Advance Training Course conducted from 16 -28 January 2011.

New institutional membership- Sagarmatha Everest Summiteers' Association - 27 Jan
The Central Executive Board Meeting of 27 Jan decided to grant Sagarmatha Everest Summiteers' Association a new institutional membership of NMA.

The Central Executive Board Meeting of 27 Jan decided to nominate Tourism entrepreneur Mr. D.B. Koirala as an advisor of NMA.

Statute Amendment Committee formed
To form Statute Amendment Committee under the convenership of Mr. Phurba Gyalzen Sherpa. Mr. President was given authority by the Executive Board on 27 Jan 2011 to present the name list of the other members of the committee will refer to it and discuss upon it.
