First meeting with newly
appointed Minister- 4 April 2007
Executive Team led by President Mr. Ang Tshering Sherpa met with
newly appointed Hon'ble Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil
Aviation Prithivi Subba Gurung on 4 April 2007 at the ministry. In
the meeting, Mr. President expressed his gratitude and congratulated
him upon his new appointment. IInd Vice President Mr. Bhumi Lal Lama
briefed the Hon'ble Minister about the establishment and working
activities of NMA. At the end, Hon'ble Minister acknowledged our
position in the mountaineering activities and asked us to keep up
the good work in the future for Nepal.

JICA Representative at NMA- 10 April 2007
Ms. Ayumi TATSUTA, Volunteer Program Coordinator of JICA visited
NMA on 10 April 2007 to discuss on various matters related with
International Mountain Museum (IMM) and possible help in near
future.
Nomination- 15 April 2007
NMA President Mr. Ang Tshering Sherpa was nominated as a member
of the First Democracy Organizing Committee for the celebration
of the first Loktantra Day to be on 24 April 2007. Similarly, he
was also nominated as member of the organizing committee formed
to celebrate 2551th Anniversary of Lord Buddha and Lumibini Day
by Lumbini Development Trust.
Central Secretariat Meeting -15 April 2007
Central Secretariat Meeting held on 15 April endorsed the
guidelines for the development of memorial monuments at Kakani.
Similarly, NMA will propose to construct the monuments of all
first three deceased Nepalese Summiteers on Mt. Everest and
first seven deceased Nepalese summiteers on other seven, eight
thousand peaks of Nepal.
NMA's participation in 2nd NATTA Himalayan International
Travel Mart 2007 -22 April 2007
As per the decision of Central Secretariat meeting held on 22
April 2007, NMA will represent in 2nd NATTA Himalayan
International Travel Mart 2007 to be held in Kathmandu on 11-13
May 2007.
NMA's support for Nepal Motion Pictures Artists' Association-
21 April 2007
NMA supported Nepal Motion Picture Artists' Association by
providing them free entrance at International Mountaineers'
Memorial Park, Kakani on 21 April 2007 for picnic organized by
them to mark New Year 2064.
New route on Mt. Cho-oyu - 23 April 2007
Mt. Cho-oyu, one of the most beautiful mountaineering
destinations in the world, unfortunately has no records of
expedition for the past fifteen years. This has been identified
due to unclear route markings and technical difficulties. NMA in
coordination with Nepal Mountaineering Instructors' Association
(NMIA) has forwarded a joint proposal with an estimated budget
to Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation for the
expedition of the identification and development of the new
route from Nepal side. By doing so, we strongly believe that
government of Nepal can market this mountain more successfully.
Mt. Cho-oyu is a border peak with China.
Tourism Minister's visit to International Mountain
Museum (IMM) - 26 April 2007
Newly appointed Hon'ble Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil
Aviation Prithvi Subba Gurung visited International Mountain Museum
(IMM) on 26 April 2007. It was great honor to receive Hon'ble
Minister as a special guest to IMM. Eleven Executive Members
traveled to IMM to welcome Hon'ble Minister. Mr. President welcomed
him on behalf of NMA, IMM Committee and Annapurna Chapter. IInd Vice
President Mr. Bhumi Lal Lama, Convener, IMM Committee briefed the
minister about the master project of NMA. In his briefing, he
informed the minister about the completion of phase I and the
continuous process of phase II. In his remarks, the minister
acknowledged the hard work of NMA. NMA also thanks Mr. Vijay Gurung,
Executive Board Member of NMA for his coordination for the
minister's visit.
