International Mountaineers Memorial Park

Kakani, Nepal

International Mountaineers Memorial Park

Mountain climbing in the Nepal Himalaya incurs hazards and high risk, and many fatalities have occurred during the history of Himalayan mountaineering. To respect and honor these brave climbers, NMA is establishing the International Mountaineers Memorial Park in Kakani, Nepal. In addition to paying homage to the brave, the Memorial Park will also inform visitors on the dangers involved in mountain climbing.

The Memorial Park project was initiated on 29 June 2002 by the Honorable Bal Bahadur K.C., Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.
