A productive meeting with the representatives of the CPN-UML

The Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) had a meaningful discussion today with representatives from the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) CPN-UML's tourism department.

A delegation from CPN-UML, led by a Standing Committee member and also a Member of Parliament, the honorable Bhim Acharya, visited the NMA Secretariat at Nagpokhari, Naxal. The team was warmly received by NMA President Mr. Nima Nuru Sherpa and other office bearers.

Various topics of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting. The President of the NMA, Mr. Sherpa, along with Senior Vice President Mr. Thakur Raj Pandey and General Secretary Mr. Mohan Lamsal, briefed the team regarding difficulties arising from legal and administrative weaknesses in promoting Nepal's mountain tourism to the fullest extent. President Mr. Sherpa added, "The NMA has a global reach and a significant platform to promote Nepal's mountains. Therefore, the Association should be supported accordingly to advance Nepal's Mountain Tourism."

Honorable Acharya, who is also the former Chief Minister of Koshi Province and former Tourism Minister, pledged to take the issues raised by the NMA heads to the parliament and all decision-making levels. "I am committed to advocating for these issues at every level of decision-making”, Honorable Acharya said.

Representing NMA, alongside President Mr. Sherpa, Senior VP Mr. Pandey, and General Secretary Mr. Lamsal, were 1st Vice President Mr. Ang Dawa Sherpa, Secretary Mr. Dhan Bahadur Gurung, Treasurer Mr. Mukti Pandey, former Secretary Mr. Tikaram Gurung, and Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Jinesh Sindurakar.

On the other hand, Honorable Member of the Koshi Parliament Ms. Nira Khanal and members of the CPN-UML's tourism department, Mr. Ganga Prasad Acharya, Mr. Lanka Bahadur Shahi, and Bijaya Nepal, were also present at the meeting.
