The Nepal
Mountaineering Association (NMA) Bagmati Province Committee successfully
concluded its 1st and 2nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the NMA Secretariat
in Nagpokhari, Naxal.
The Chief Guest for the
AGM was none other than Mr. Nima Nuru Sherpa, President of NMA, while Mr. Dal Bahadur
Gurung chaired the program. Distinguished guests included Mr. Mohan Lamsal,
General Secretary of NMA, Mr. Tikaram Gurung, Former Secretary and Convener of convener of Provincial Chapter Coordination Committee, Mr. Kul Prasad Rai, CEO of NMA, Mr. Ram Kaji
Tiwari, a member of the NMA Training and Expedition Committee and Mr. Jinesh
Sindurakar, CAO of NMA. Additionally, members of the NMA Bagmati Province
Committee, including Vice President Milan Lama, Secretary Ms. Fudoma Sherpa,
Treasurer Thakur Dharel, and committee members Birendra Tamang, Nin Lama,
Serayang Tamang, Sunil Tamang, Gyan Bahadur Tamang, Rata Bahadur Tamang, Kul Das
Tamang, Dawa Hyolmo, Purna Singh Tamang were also present.
The program was
moderated by the Secretary of NMA Bagmati Province Committee, Ms. Fudoma
Sherpa. Mr. Thakur Dharel, the Treasurer of NMA Bagmati Province, extended a
warm welcome to all the esteemed guests and members in attendance.
Mr. Tikaram Gurung,
Convener of the Bagmati Province Committee and Former Secretary, shared his
vision for the NMA Bagmati Province, emphasizing the need for active
collaboration with local bodies and the government. He stressed the importance
of promoting both explored and unexplored peaks within the province and
expressed his readiness to provide support and guidance to the committee when
needed.
General Secretary of
NMA, Mr. Mohan Lamsal, acknowledged the significant contributions of NMA
Bagmati Province to various NMA events and programs. He highlighted the
financial challenges faced by the committee but assured continued support from
NMA in their growth and development initiatives.
Mr. Ram Kaji Tiwari, a
member of the NMA Training and Expedition Committee, congratulated the
committee on their successful 1st and 2nd AGM and shared his experiences
regarding the summit of Ganchenpo Peak via a new route.
As a mark of
recognition, certificates of appreciation were presented to Mr. Ram Kaji Tiwari
for his achievement and to Mr. Dawa Hyolmo for successfully conquering the
world's highest peak, Mount Everest. Mr. Hyolmo emphasized the untapped
potential of Bagmati Province as a tourism hub and called for the responsible
management and promotion of the region's peaks.
In his closing remarks,
the Chief Guest, Mr. Nima Nuru Sherpa, President of NMA, congratulated the committee
on their AGM success. He commended the active participation of the Bagmati
Province Committee in NMA events and programs. Mr. Sherpa encouraged the
committee to take initiative in organizing programs and promoting local
destinations, emphasizing the importance of reporting to NMA and government
officials. He expressed optimism about exploring new places despite budget
constraints and underscored the value of collaboration in achieving this goal.
