July 2, 2024

Photos of Slovenian expeditions on Nepal’s mountains have been permanently exhibited at the International Mountain Museum (IMM) in Pokhara. The exhibition was inaugurated by the honorable judge of the High Court, Pokhara, Mr. Dhansingh Mahara.

The photos featured in the permanent display will narrate the history of Slovenians climbing Nepal’s mountains. These exhibited photos were received from the Alpine Association of Slovenia.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including the Registrar of the High Court, Pokhara, Mr. Achyut Kuikel, and the Chief District Officer (CDO), Mr. Bharatmani Pandey. The Alpine Association of Slovenia has been a strong supporter of the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) and has made significant contributions to the development of Nepal’s mountain tourism.

The NMA operates a high-altitude mountaineering training center in Manang, the construction of which was financially supported by the Alpine club of Slovenia.

The NMA believes that this photo exhibition will play an important role in renewing the relationship between the NMA and the Alpine Association of Slovenia. “The Slovenian Alpine Association has been our biggest supporter in the past, and this photo exhibition will surely help us continue our relationship”, adds the Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Jinesh Sindurakar, “We anticipate a stronger partnership in the future for the betterment of our mountain tourism.”
