Swayambhunath, a world heritage site is cleaned-up

Mountaineers and hundreds of individuals from various organizations today gathered at Swayambhunath, a world heritage site to clean up the premises. Tons of trash are removed from the location.

Initiated by Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), the clean-up program was headed by Honorable Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) Mr. Sudan Kirati, and Secretary Mr. Suresh Adhikari. Both dignitaries actively participated in the program.

The clean-up program was attended by mountaineers, tourism business owners, and members of numerous organizations.

Senior Vice President of NMA Mr. Thakur Raj Pandey, General Secretary Mr. Mohan Lamsal, Central Secretariat Member Mr. Rajendra Bahadur Lama, Central Executive Board Member Mr. Diwas Pokhrel, Convenor of the NMA Environment Committee Mr. Singi Lama and other NMA staff members were also actively involved in the program.

Nepal Airlines, Tourist Police, and other numerous organizations took part in the clean-up program.

NMA, on the occasion of World Environment Day, has been organizing such cleaning programs in various parts of Kathmandu. NMA had cleaned up the premises of the Sheshnarayan Temple area situated in ward No. 5 of Dakshinkali Municipality.
