TNF Representatives Conduct Inspection at NMA Project Sites

Representatives from the Nippon Foundation (TNF) of Japan paid a visit to the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) Secretariat, embarking on a thorough inspection of the TNF-NMA Project implementation areas.

Ms. Kiyomi Takahashi, Program Director of TNF, and Ms. Chisa Tsuneto from the Global Issue Team of TNF visited the NMA Secretariat on March 26, 2024, and also inspected the TNF-NMA project implementation areas to assess the impact of the project. TNF had supported NMA with $213,000 during the COVID-19 pandemic to aid leprosy-affected people and mountaineers."

NMA provided food relief materials (50 kg of rice, 5 kg of lentils, 2 kg of salt, and 2 liters of oil to each) to 3000 mountaineers. NMA also provided a double-sized blanket, down jacket, and health kits (masks, hand sanitizer, and hand soap) to 200 leprosy-affected people sheltered at Khokana Leprosy Camp. Additionally, NMA provided rice and lentils to Karl Gerold Bal Niketan Hostel located at Dakshinkali-2.

Ms. Kiyomi and Chisa visited the Khokana Leprosy Camp and the Karl Gerold Bal Niketan Hostel to gain knowledge regarding the project implementation and its impact.

Before heading towards project implementation areas, Ms. Kiyomi and Ms. Chisa were welcomed at NMA Secretariat, Nagpokhari, Naxal, by NMA President Mr. Nima Nuru Sherpa and other officials.

NMA President Mr. Sherpa welcomed the TNF representatives with a khada. Immediate Past President Mr. Santa Bir Lama, Senior Vice President Mr. Thakur Raj Pandey, 1st Vice President Mr. Ang Dawa Sherpa, General Secretary Mr. Mohan Lamsal, Secretary Mr. Dhan Bahadur Gurung, Central Executive Board Member Mr. Pitambar Gurung, and Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Jinesh Sindurakar were also present at the moment.
